Textolite
Textolite insulation is constructed of layers of fabric, cotton, or glass fiber. They are impregnated with phenolic or epoxy resin and cured under pressure and heat. This creates a stiff, high-strength thermoset material that resists moisture, heat, and chemicals. Textolite is used in electrical insulation, circuit breakers and transformers. Also, various mechanical components need high mechanical strength and dimensional stability. They are also used in the construction of machinery and equipment. They provide insulation and structural support. Textolite has:
- Durable
- Heat-resistant
- Moisture-resistant
- Chemical-resistant
- Insulating properties
- Low water absorption
- High mechanical strength
- Suitable for machining
- Lightweight
- Cost-effective
